Substack has locked me out of my account

This is a quick wee test to see if this will publish.

In Australia recently a law went into force where certain social media sites must ensure users are at least 16; Substack is NOT on that list.

That hasn’t stopped them partnering with ‘Persona’ and trying to force Australian adults - who they already know are adults due to paying for substacks subscriptions and paying for custom urls, like my own - to verify their age using invasive steps such as recording yourself on video and then submitting a government ID.

Above is what I’m met with when trying to access my substack.

Given the Australian government do not require Substack to verify user age, why the fuck would they be forcing this on users unless it was an opportunistic personal data grab?

Obviously, they can get fucked.

I’ll see if I can work around this bullshit, but if not, and if this somehow has been successfully published, I’ll be deleting my account and cancelling my subscriptions before I’ll ever give them what they’re trying to extort from me.
